Caliburger Introduces BBQ Bacon Cheesburger, Onion Rings, and Cali Sweet Wings

Caliburger Philippines, one of the newest and hippest food spot in Manila, introduced three new products this month. These are the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, Onion Rings, and Cali Sweet Wings. Luckily, we were invited to try these out at their Century City Mall branch in Makati.

Although Caliburger just opened its doors last Febuary here in the Philippines, they have become a popular food trip destination among the youth. I guess it is the feel good vibes that one gets by just being inside a Caliburger joint. The benches and seats, the crew's get-up, and the design of the area itself, particularly the little details, remind me of the beach. Californian, indeed!

At their Century City Mall branch, they have this huge screen where they show some of the happenings during their grand opening in both the Century City Mall and Timog branches. Anyway, here's a copy of the clip where you could see their Cali Girl, Carla D.:

Food at Caliburger is very limited. It's either you want to eat at Caliburger or not. But basing on the crowd when we went there, people still flock the area proving that it their dishes are definitely something!

BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Meal (with fries and unlimited drink refills) - P275

Of course, Caliburger believes that fresh tastes best. Their made-to-order meals are always prepared in open kitchens by experienced chefs who carefully monitor quality and adhere to strict standards for processing, cooking, and sanitation. These all add up to a difference you taste in their products.

The first one that we tried is the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. It is a mouthwatering cheeseburger layered with 100% USDA Prime Angus Beef patty, double smoked bacon, and sweet and tangy house-made BBQ sauce. I liked this one a lot because the veggies are really fresh and I just love bacon so much. I have a sweet tooth so I appreciated the sweet BBQ sauce as well. The patty was really juicy and so good that I wanted it to be larger in size. :p

BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger - P195

The Onion Rings, on the other hand, are hand-battered with a touch of thyme. I'd never eat fresh, uncooked onions my entire life, but I liked this one a lot. The onions were cut very thinly. Thus, it is more flavorful. The batter is very crispy while the onions remain soft and yummy!

Onion Rings - P50

My favorite would definitely be their new Cali Sweet Wings! These are juicy chicken wings with soy honey glaze. They're best eaten when still hot. The chicken were just as tender as I expect it to be and the soy honey glaze won't let me stop eating. It's just that good!

Cali Sweet Wings - P185 (8 pcs.), P95 (4 pcs.)

I have to commend Caliburger's staff though for being the most cheerful and the most accommodating bunch of people I have met. They were all smiles for the camera and were greeting everyone. They're just happy people sending good vibes to their customers.

Thanks Caliburger for inviting me to try out your latest dishes! I can't wait to go back and have more chicken wings and perhaps try the milkshakes. :D

Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp Goes Bigger and Better on Its 3rd Year!

Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp is definitely back with a bigger and better production! Now on its third year, Wyeth Nutrition and ABS-CBN go beyond the studio walls and expose the kids to real talent institutions that have nurtured and developed similar talents – of dancing, singing, and acting – throughout the years.

Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp Year 3 Hosts - Xian Lim, Matteo Guidicelli, and Dimples Romana

For over 25 years, Promil Pre-School has been advocating the development of the Filipino children’s talents with the help of their parents, proper care and proper nutrition. In line with this advocacy, the i-Shine Talent Camp aims to help exceptionally talented preschoolers develop their full potential.  Aside from the extensive workshops, the roles of parents and proper nutrition will also play a big part in nurturing the preschoolers’ gifts to mastery.

Last week, I was able to witness at an event held at 9501 Restaurant in ABS-CBN the improvements introduced by Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp on their latest season. The show's TV hosts Dimples Romana, Matteo Guidicelli, and Xian Lim were present during the event to share their memorable experiences in the past years, as well as their excitement for what’s new for the third season.

Mentors Georcelle Dapat-Sy and Angel Locsin with host, Marie Lozano

Aside from meeting the hosts of the show, the top caliber mentors of this season were also revealed. The list includes fierce mom and the artistic director of G-Force, Georcelle Dapat-Sy; Multi-platinum artist and the country’s music icon, Zsa Zsa Padilla; and critically acclaimed and world-class television and movie actress, Angel Locsin. These mentors will guide the i-Shiners through a series of workshops, sharing their knowledge as experts in their various fields. In the duration of the camp, the chosen preschoolers will be guided and given the opportunity to strengthen their talents.

We were also given a chance to show our (hidden) singing talents through this Videoke booth!

Also new this year is the chance of the audience to vote for their favorite i-Shiner through the Wildcard voting. A shortlist of 30 finalists was revealed on the Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp microsite. The audience chose their favorites through online voting – one for singing, one for dancing and one for acting.  The three finalists per category with the most votes will join the nine finalists selected by Wyeth Philippines and ABS-CBN, and complete the top 12 i-Shiners.

Mentors and Hosts with representatives from ABS-CBN and Promil Pre-School

These 12 i-Shiners will be taken to different institutions that played significant roles in nurturing the gifts of some of the country's icons for a series of workshops. The Grand Finale will stage a grand performance by the i-Shiners with the help of their moms and mentors. Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp is also giving away over Php 1 million worth of prizes, and a contract from ABS-CBN and Promil Pre-School to the Grand i-Shiner who will be receiving the highest score.

Previous Promil Pre-School grand i-Shiners Lukas Enrique Magallano in 2012 and Yesha Camille in 2013 have received numerous television appearances for their talents in singing and acting. Lukas was able to appear in Kapamilya shows such as ASAP, Little Champ and Muling Buksan ang Puso while Yesha is currently shooting for an upcoming series with her i-Shine mentor Piolo Pascual. These kids, having continuously shown much promise, are now on their way to become icons through the help of the i-Shine Talent Camp.

Don't forget to catch Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp Year 3 starting today, June 28th, 10AM, only at ABS-CBN!

Wait... What? Solaire in the Sky?

Yes! You've read it correctly. Solaire Resort and Casino is set to fly the sky this year! As the Philippines’ premier integrated resort, we have come to know of Solaire's world class facilities - luxurious rooms, dining section, and casino area. And through a partnership with Air Asia, one of Asia’s leading and multi-awarded airlines in their category, this luxury destination casino resort will soar new heights. Solaire definitely raises the bar as it wraps its brightly colored livery on Air Asia’s popular Airbus A320. Can you just imagine how vibrant this orange and red livery would be up in the blue sky? This will surely make everyone lift their heads up!

Be the first one to fly with Solaire and Air Asia as their maiden flight is scheduled to embark this July. As a part of a breakthrough branding project in the Philippines, Solaire is the first-ever consumer brand in the country to fully wrap and brand a commercial airline. Curious how this collaboration was done? Here's a video of the #SkySolaire The Making:

Travel and tourism are elevated into the next level with this dynamic collaboration between Solaire and Air Asia as such represents another step forward in an on-going journey towards providing modern travel and leisure experiences for its customers. This partnership will facilitate more passenger and cargo traffic in both regional and domestic flights, and foster stronger trade, cultural and tourism ties within Asia.

“This milestone is a key undertaking between two passionate brands with entrepreneurial and dynamic mindsets. This unprecedented branding project in the Philippines may be taken as a "leadership statement," which attests to Solaire's strong growth momentum in the industry. Yes we are again raising the bar; this time we're taking it to the skies.” says Donato Almeda, Board Director of Solaire Resort and Casino

As of the moment, Solaire’s brand colors are donned by just one airplane. But we'll definitely see more of these bright and vibrant liveries as nothing is stopping them from further rolling out this innovative wrap on additional aircrafts in the future with broader partnership arrangements. The campaign will continue until 2016 and it is envisioned that this high-impact ad in the sky will generate more hype and publicity as the partnership progresses.

Jasper Evangelista, Vice President of Brand & Marketing, Solaire Resort and Casino said, “This aircraft-branding campaign is a strategic branding initiative which would allow us to literally take our brand to greater heights. We have created amazing moments for our customers since Solaire launched last year, and now we’re aiming to further connect with our local & foreign guests and travellers by reinforcing our brand presence in the country’s airports. Sky Solaire will enable us to get immediate traction on this effort and even take it to a level all its own.”

In-line with Solaire’s “Create Your Moments" campaign, which highlights Solaire as the perfect place to create unforgettable memories, this fitting partnership with AirAsia harmoniously evokes the key thrusts of customer service, hospitality, and excitement for both their industries. This marketing initiative is also primed to open up new revenue streams for both the integrated resort and the airline carrier.

AirAsia Philippines Chairman Maan Hontiveros said, “AirAsia Philippines is a sociable and innovative brand. We also take pride on our collaborative nature. This new livery demonstrates our creative approach to partnerships and marketing opportunities especially with companies that support our vision to grow tourism. We are thrilled to carry Solaire’s brand in the sky and on the grounds at the airports here and abroad extending to as far as our destinations in Malaysia, China and Korea.”

Solaire Resort is not merely a home away from home. The Solaire experience is stamped with an unparalleled brand of service style, world-renowned Philippine hospitality, top-of-class luxurious accommodations, diverse dining options and impressive gaming facilities, which have all contributed to the way people people view resort casinos in Manila. Many have opted to extend their stay at the resort, to have simply grown to embrace the aspirational and stress-free lifestyle offered to them at Solaire. Solaire Resort and Casino clearly offers the utmost experience of comfort, elegance and luxury in the Philippines right now.

For more information and reservations, please contact a travel professional or access the website at www.solaireresort.com.

I can't wait to fly with Solaire and Air Asia! This collaboration will definitely create numerous unforgetable flying memories and experiences. :)

With the recent launch of the #BetterTogether campaign, McDonald’s and Coca-Cola took a stand and asked people to stay offline a little longer to celebrate real-world connections. Encouraging its customers to spend time with one another over a McDonald’s meal and a Coca-Cola drink, the two iconic brands introduced the BFF Bundles, meals best shared with friends, enabling them to experience moments of genuine connection anytime, anywhere.

In order to amplify and sustain the #BetterTogether campaign’s big idea of inspiring people to enrich their friendships by being physically together, McDonald’s and Coca-Cola have developed a new mobile app that will make bonding time even more exciting—the BFF Timeout App.

A fun new way to bring friends closer together, the BFF Timeout App is a gaming app which challenges players to go on a “digital timeout” with friends—to celebrate real-world connections without digital interruptions, such as checking their mobile phones. Customers just have to download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store on their iOS or Android phones, log in with their Facebook accounts or play as a guest, invite friends to play, and spend minutes, or even hours, gadget-free.

The game is very simple yet offers a fun challenge to those who find themselves often glued to their smartphones and handheld gadgets, as one can earn badges for more minutes played. The longer you and your friends go on a timeout, the better the reward!

More than being able to play a game with the gang, friends also have the chance to take their timeout to a fun destination! Until July 19, 2014, every purchase of a BFF Burger or Chicken Bundle for three or four comes with a coupon. Each coupon contains a code, which must be entered in the app to qualify for a chance to win a free trip for four! Prizes include a trip to Boracay on the first raffle draw, Coron, Palawan on the second, Singapore on the third and Osaka, Japan on the final draw.

So how long do you think you and your friends can last on a digital timeout? Download the McDonald’s and Coca-Cola BFF Timeout App now and find out! Visit www.bfftimeout.com to know more. Tell us how you’re celebrating real-world connections by using the hashtags #BetterTogether and #BFFTimeout.

Ever since I started attending blog events, I realized that I wasn't able to publish any outfit posts anymore. I was so busy beating deadlines then that I don't have time to edit photos and compose anything personal. Now that I don't have time to attend events anymore (due to law school), I guess you'll be seeing more outfit posts. So here's one that my friend blogger, Mommy Jen, took during our Little Miss Solane event last summer.

Romwe Gold Chain Necklace, F21 White Cami, Mi Mieux Flats c/o Lazada Philippines

Hype this look!

I forgot to remove my glasses hehe. :p

I still cannot get over F21's camis. Not are they only cheap, they are also very comfy to wear. I still actually don this combo all the time when I go to school. My annoying friends call this my Valentines Day outfit lol! For school, I just add a cardigan or blazer with this to make myself more presentable. Speaking of school, I am now on my third year. Can you believe that??? I am just hoping and praying though that I survive again this year. Wish me luck! :)

Children of Multiple Intelligence

$

0

When speaking of “intelligence,” most people only think of academic aptitude, such as readiness towards schoolwork or getting high grades. Thus, parents say their child is “smart” when he or she lands the top of their class. But with the advent of ‘multiple intelligence’ – the simplistic definition of intelligence no longer holds. Now more people are realizing that true intelligence covers a broader spectrum of an individual’s capabilities.

A new context of ‘smart’

The concept of Multiple Intelligence was first introduced by Dr. Howard Gardner, an educational psychologist at Harvard University who explored the topic in his book Frames Of Mind. Dia Kagaoan, psychologist, licensed teacher, entrepreneur and SPED educator, trained under Dr. Gardner himself when the latter came to the Philippines in 1985. Dia explains that according to Gardner’s theory, there are multiple ways that a child can be smart, and to date has listed nine categories of intelligence. “From the standpoint of early childhood development, the most relevant types on this list can be narrowed down to three: Brain Smart, People Smart, Body Smart,” she says.

Dia says a child has the capacity to achieve holistic development if provided with suitable instruction, encouragement, and nutrition.

Not settling for one

From an early age, Margaret Maraña has exhibited a predisposition towards advanced development. She mastered the concept of numbers up to the thousands at the tender age of 3. In less than ten days, she was able to memorize the multiplication table at the rate of one table a day. She loved poetry and story books. By age 5, she could easily point out places like Pretoria or the tiny Pacific and Atlantic islands on the world map. She was also a competent dancer who responded well to choreography. Today, aged 6, she handles academic material two levels advanced.

But it turns out Margaret had another strength which will actually lead to further developing her other smarts. Early on, her mother Lila noticed that her daughter had the ability to hold people enthralled. “She actually developed conversational speech late. What I didn’t get was how she was able to make friends so easily without saying a single word.” Everywhere they went, Margaret would always come away with two to four new friends. Once, at the beach, Lila was shocked to discover upon returning to their cottage after a brief errand, that everyone in the vicinity already knew Margaret by name. “I saw her playing in the sand with kids I hadn’t met. Some people were assisting her and buying a cone of ice cream for her. I don’t know how she does it.”

Lila observed that as Margaret became more sociable, she participated more actively in her dance classes showing more confidence with the way she moves. It was also mentioned to her that Margaret had become more participative in class. As a mother, Lila came to realize that developing one smart can help enhance other smarts and with this, she continuously makes an extra effort to further support her child’s growth.

As a motivated mom, Lila shares that she truly invests a lot in Margaret’s overall development – she gives her only the best. She enrolled her child in the one of the best schools in the metro and even got her child involved in different extra curricular activities during the weekends. “When I saw that Margaret showed interest in dancing, I enrolled her to one of the top dance class studio recommended by my mommy-friends.” To add, Lila admits that when it comes to purchasing products for her child, she is the type to always go for the superior quality products especially if recommended by credible personalities that she looks up to. “I make decisions thinking that I have to make sure that my child becomes her best. And the way I see it, the more I invest in superior quality things, the more returns both my and my child get.”

A valuable player

Dia’s first son, Jiad Arroyo, showed a predisposition towards physical activities early on. “He was always running outdoors and moving around. At 5 or 6, he was already insisting on playing basketball with the adults.” Once when he was 4, Jiad jumped into the deep end of the pool and failed to surface that his aunt had to pull him out. “While most kids would be upset and crying, Jiad’s response was: ‘Why did you pull me out? I was already swimming my way up!’”

To provide an outlet for this unlimited energy, Jiad’s parents bought him a bicycle. While other kids his age drove precariously on trainers, Jiad had his uncles remove the training wheels and rode his bike with such gusto that his mom had to cut socks into tubes to make him elbow and knee pads to protect him from the rough and tumble. As he got older Jiad qualified on a baseball team based in Alabang. Later he also tried Taekwondo, and won gold medals for his efforts. Eventually, Jiad got a scholarship as a basketball athlete.

With an athletic scholarship, Dia told her son that as she supports him in his journey as an athlete, he should not forget that he is a student first before an athlete thus he should put as much effort in his academics as he is honing his skills in different sports. “Jiad used the discipline he learned in sports to perform better academically.”

“His friendliness and easy going attitude got him a lot of influential friends. His coaches and sponsors were always opening new opportunities for him because they liked him. As a supportive mom, I would always remind him that opportunities and blessings will keep on coming as long as he values them and as long as he is consistently good in school as he is good inside and outside the court.”

Harness the power of multiple intelligence

According to the theory of Multiple Intelligence, genetics, culture, and how the child is raised influence intelligence.  Dia says, “Good nutrition is vital to the holistic development of the child.”

Lila couldn’t agree more. “I don’t believe a person’s success is dependent on good grades. That’s just one part of it. All the other intelligences – like the way they respond to people or using their bodies to communicate competence are all equally important.” One of her commitments is making sure that her daughter limits junk food intake, eats more fruit, greens and protein, and drinks the right milk. “Our pediatrician only recommended Progress Preschool Gold. At first I had thought that all milk formulas were the same – I was wrong.”

The new Progress Preschool Gold now comes with its best ever Gold Biofactors System (vs previous formulations) that comprises higher DHA, Lutein and choline- to help build a child’s multiple intelligence. For Dia, whose kids, including Jiad, were also raised on Wyeth milk products, educating parents on the role good nutrition has in making a child ready for multiple intelligence is very important.
“We should train up a child in the way he should go,” Dia says. “And if you are a smart mom, you should know that with a competitive environment, it is best to support a child’s multiple intelligence because if your child excels in all smarts, then he will always be steps ahead from the rest.”

Metrobank Card Corporation Launches Dramatic Reading Series with G. Töngi at Century City Mall

Media celebrity G Töngi, newly appointed Artistic Director of Upstart Productions, spearheads Upstart Soundstage, a series of bi-weekly dramatic readings presented by Metrobank Card Corporation at Century City Mall at 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 15, 2014. Upstart Sound-stage will present a different full-length drama, comedy, or musical every two weeks, each show featuring well-known theater personalities and stage directors. No props, no sets, no costumes—just pure performance.

“Readings like this are very popular in L.A and New York,” declares Töngi, who has timed her birthday celebration to coincide with the first play in the series. “We want to do the same thing over here.” To that end, Upstart has lined up an impressive array of actors for the project: noted stage and screen personalities Audie Gemora, Noel Trinidad (one of Upstart’s board members), and Töngi herself, along with renowned directors like Anton Juan and Bobby Garcia.

But will Manila audiences take to the concept of stage shows without any staging? Apparently, they already have: Töngi and her partners have conducted quite a few informal readings of this type, and they’ve all been very well-received. Upstart founder Joel Trinidad, Noel’s son, is not at all surprised. “I’ve always loved dramatic readings, “ he shares. “When you take away the sounds and lights and costumes, you force people to really pay attention.” Upstart Managing Director Onyl Torres, who doubles as the company’s Musical Director and Composer, likens the medium to a radio play. “You get the same emotions, the same human drama,” he says. “It’s very powerful.” Töngi concurs: “In our last few readings, people were in tears—the actors and the audi-ence.”

Upstart Soundstage kicks off with Töngi’s birthday celebration: a reading of Jane Anderson’s The Baby Dance, an emotionally charged drama about a suburban couple adopting the unborn baby of a poor couple. Other proposed shows in the series—which will run continu-ously, every two weeks, in three-month blocks—include Pippin by Stephen Schwartz, Glengarry Glen Ross by David Mamet, The Sea-gull by Anton Chekov, Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Christopher Hampton, and many others. “A different show every two weeks, at a fraction of the cost of a regular show,” notes Töngi. “Where else can you experience that?”

Upstart Soundstage: The Dramatic Readings. Starting Sunday, June 15, at 7:00 pm at the event space on the 5th floor of Century City Mall, Kalayaan Avenue, Makati, and playing continuously every other Sunday from then on. Show schedule may change based on availability of performance rights and other factors. Tickets at P300 each, available at the door. Presented by Metrobank Card Corporation in cooperation with Century City Mall. From Upstart Productions.

Support Four Eyes' A Pair for A Pair Program

$

0

My eyesight started to worsen when I entered law school. Hence, I was forced to wear prescription glasses that I hated initially. I soon developed more appreciation for them cause I find it hard to go on with my daily activities without wearing them. Honestly, it's just hard not being able to see things clearly. I wasn't that productive and I was prone to accidents. Lucky for me, I could afford to pay for a pair of such important, yet neglected accessory. However, there are also unprivileged individuals who cannot afford to pay for such as they have other necessities to prioritize. Thank God cause the vision angels of Four Eyes came up with the "A Pair for A Pair"program!

If you haven't heard of Four Eyes Philippines yet, it is the first online optical store for prescription eye wear in the Philippines. Four Eyes gives its customers the chance to to purchase the finest styles of prescription/non-prescription eyewear and sunglasses in the comforts of their own home through its website, in their own time and pace, and at clear-cut, fair and personalized prices. And as a part of its corporate social responsibility, Four Eyes works with non-profit partner charities to ensure that each sale of its eyewear will give someone in need of access to affordable prescription eyewear. So how does this program works? Simple. Buy one pair of glasses from Four Eyes and it will, in return, donate one to a person in need of the same.

Last summer, Four Eyes and World Vision went to Brgy. Sto Nino in Dasmarinas, Cavite to conduct an eye check up to more than 250 individuals they have gathered from the said community. After producing the eyeglasses for the said individuals, they finally were able to give the same to these people during another charity event last June 21st. Barenaked Sugaring Salon Il Terrazzo Eyebrow Shaping Review

$

I've only tried two waxing salons my entire life. Both of them uses hot wax so the concept of sugaring made me curious. Luckily, I was invited by the owners of the newly opened Barenaked Il Terrazzo branch to try out their eyebrow shaping sugaring service. I was quite skeptical at first because I was previously rejected by a waxing salon when I was about to have my brows waxed. Apparently, my brows needed to be shaped first before they could wax the remaining hair. With Barenaked's sugaring method, only one procedure is needed to shape the brows and remove the stray hairs.

Barenaked in Il Terrazzo is easy to locate. It's because they're alongside the yummiest restaurants in the area. :p You could actually see the place from outside of Il Terrazzo. They're located in the 2nd floor of the building.

Spacious waiting area
Spa-like hallway
Clean and sanitary beds.
As soon as I entered the salon, I definitely felt like I was inside a spa. The design of the salon, especially the green and yellow color scheme, gives out a serene and calming vibe. The area has four separate cubicles, each having a bed. It also has a washroom, a shower area which may be used by those who are to avail of their body scrubbing and brazilian/bikini sugaring services and a sauna. Most importantly, it has a spacious waiting area with comfortable seats for your companions. Let me add that the place has nice lighting. Not too bright as to make it a distraction, yet not too dim as to hinder the technicians from performing their services.

Before: messy brows

The entire procedure did not last more than 10 minutes. I was initially asked by my technician if I wanted thinner eyebrows and I told her to just tidy up the area yet keep the fullness of my brows. As a preparation for the sugaring procedure, my brows were first cleaned to remove dirt and makeup. Then, toner was applied. Lastly, powder was generously applied to the area to keep the sugaring paste from penetrating the skin.

Sorry for showing my bad skin up close. :|:)

A generous amount of sugaring paste was then prepared to be used for the entire area. So here's how sugaring works: 1. The paste is applied on a small part of the skin; 2. When all the hair in the area have stuck to the paste, it is then pulled consistently with the direction of the hair growth to remove the same; 3. The procedure is repeated until you get the desired result. What is amazing about sugaring is that even the finest hair can be removed as compared to other hair removal methods that requires a minimum length of hair before they could wax it.

Halfway done!

As regards comfort, you need not worry about your skin getting burned because the sugaring paste is maintained at body temperature. I have no problems too with pain tolerance so I wasn't worried if the procedure would hurt or not. I am more concerned though with how my brows will look like after the procedure. But just so you know, it did not hurt much. As compared to threading which I find to be very painful, this method removes more hair at once so it is definitely less painful. I guess it also helped when my technician pressed the area for a few seconds after pulling the paste from my skin.

From a very light caramel color, the paste turns white when the powder gets mixed

After the sugaring procedure, my brows were perfected by trimming them and removing the remaining hair using tweezers. They were further cleansed, treated with toner, and applied with a solution to soothe the area. I have noticed that there was redness in the treated area right after the procedure which lasted for 3 hours. I was told not to wet the area for the next 6 hours. I was also told that itchiness in the area right after the procedure is normal, but I did not experience any discomfort.

Barenaked uses only imported sugaring paste which is made from 100% natural ingredients. Definitely edible and safe to use!

And here's how my brows look like after trying out their eyebrow shaping service. Clean and perfect. I am so happy with it and I love it!!!

It looks nice even without eyebrow make up! :D

As I have said before, grooming the brows should always be consistent. Although it takes a while before the hair grows again, it is advised that hair removal should be done every 3 weeks for maintenance. And for only P180, Barenaked's Eyebrow Shaping service is definitely an affordable service that even students could maintain as part of their beauty routine! If you're interested in giving Barenaked a try, here's a list of the prices and packages that they offer:

If you live/work near Tomas Morato, please visit Barenaked Body Sugaring Salon at Il Terrazzo to experience this latest hair removal method. As of the moment, they're open from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM everyday. Don't miss their opening promos as they're currently offering 20% off on sugaring and 50% off on body scrub services until the end of July. Can't wait to go back and try their Brazilian sugaring!

There's probably a million ways on how we could send good vibes to everyone and one of which is made possible by the geniuses from Coca-Cola Philippines. Coca-Cola has released here in the country the most popular Pinoy nicknames, terms of endearment, and group names on personalized Coca-Cola products for a more fun and personal way of sharing a Coke. In my opinion, just seeing those personalized cans and bottles can make someone smile, but sharing it with another can produce genuine happiness. This phenomenal campaign has now made people in more than 50 countries worldwide happy and I am definitely glad that it is now here in the Philippines!

Last Saturday, July 12, I experienced a fun afternoon as Coca-Cola invited people to Share A Coke with each other. What a perfect study break! Leading the celebration at the Mega Fashion Hall in SM Megamall was Jasmin Vinculado, Marketing Director of Coca-Cola Philippines, who also headed the first ever Share a Coke campaign in Australia. “We brought Share A Coke to the Philippines with one goal – to share happiness. Sharing a Coke is a simple yet fun and exciting way for us Filipinos to be able to show our appreciation to people who make us happy." she shares.

Ms. Jasmin Vinculado and Mr. Ben Chan

Among the event’s highlights was a celebration of the long-standing partnership between Coca-Cola and the country’s leading teen clothing brand Bench/. Staying true to the essence of Share a Coke, Vinculado, on behalf of Coca-Cola, shared a Coke with Ben Chan, Chairman and CEO of Bench to show the company’s appreciation for all the years they have worked together.

It was indeed a fun-filled event as such was followed by a fashion show. Models clad in stylized Share a Coke shirts showcased their smiles and their personalized Coca-Cola bottles and cans on the catwalk. At the same time, they entertained and interacted with the co-models and guests alike by showing them the many ways of sharing a Coke. The reasons to share a Coke were just endless!

Joseph Marco
Julia Montes
Enchong Dee

Coca-Cola Happiness Ambassadors Joseph Marco, Julia Montes, and Enchong Dee gave the audience a blast by sharing personalized Coke cans bearing terms of endearment “Crush,” “Hottie,” and “Love” to some unsuspecting guests. Too bad I didn't get one from them. :p

Enchong, Julia, and Joseph with Coca Cola and Bench executives

The message of the event was simple: Sharing a Coke is a simple yet personal way to show appreciation for people who make you happy. It inspired all attendees to show gratitude for even the small, everyday gestures that otherwise go unnoticed – like how your officemate “Jen” makes work more exciting, how your barkada serves as your second family, how your BFFs provide the best shoulder to lean on, how your kuya is always there to protect you, or how your ‘nay loves you unconditionally.

Showing our appreciation for other people’s simple gestures by sharing a Coke has never been more fun and exciting. The personalized Coke packs are available in sari-sari stores, convenience stores, groceries, supermarkets and even vending machines nationwide. You may also drop by Share a Coke booths in supermarkets, malls and schools to have your own personalized Coca-Cola printed in an instant.

Thank you Coca Cola for our personalized bottles!

Zsa Zsa Padilla Shares Her Past Experiences to Talented Kids of the Present for an Exceptional Future

Zsa Zsa Padilla is a veteran actress, TV host, singer, and a true Philippine icon with more than 30 years of experience, but she has a new title to add under her belt –Singing mentor for Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp 3. The divine diva, who was recently unveiled as one of the top caliber mentors of the show, will be taking on the responsibility of mentoring this year’s batch of talented preschoolers. Together with a panel of esteemed mentors: choreographer and G-Force director, Georcelle Dapat-Sy, and world-class television and film actress, Angel Locsin, Zsa Zsa will be guiding chosen preschoolers through singing workshops.

For 25 years, Promil Pre-School has been well known for talent development, raising awareness for parental participation, proper guidance and good nutrition as factors that play major roles in bringing preschoolers to their full potential. The Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp is one of Promil Pre-school’s advocacies, in which the talents of Filipino children nationwide are engaged. “It’s exciting to be part of something that recognizes and appreciates talent at a young age.” Zsa Zsa shares that the show is something that brings back memories of how she started as an artist.

Nurturing talent in your formative years
The divine diva today can automatically command the attention of any room she enters, but the singer reveals that it wasn’t always like that. She started out as a shy child who only got to sing in front of her family. “I grew up in a compound where we all lived close to each other,” she recalls. “When my uncles would get together in the late afternoons, they’d get the guitar and they’d ask me to sing.”

Zsa Zsa, together with her cousin whom she grew up with, Gino Padilla, learned to harness their skills while doing duets to entertain their uncles. “I always knew that I love singing. Even as a child, when I’d hear a song on the radio, I would sing it immediately. I had fast recall and my family noticed that about me,” she says. “They would ask me to learn a piece, and then I’d perform it for them. I was the entertainment. Ganun ako nahasa (That’s how I was trained).”

While she knew she had the talent, it was her family that allowed her to gain her confidence in front of a crowd. “Singing for my uncles, that’s really my first memory of my musical background. Allowing me to sing for them was their way of nurturing my talent.”

Through Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp, Zsa Zsa hopes to develop the raw talent of the chosen preschoolers. “These kids are curious and eager to learn, but you need to guide them while they’re still young and sensitive to change. You need to show them that they’re capable, because they’ll really take that with them as they grow up and develop their talents.”

It’s not always in the genes, but also in the environment
Though Zsa Zsa’s parents weren’t musical people, she was able to master her craft because of her exposure to music through her family. While both her daughters, Karylle and Zia, are musically inclined, she credits not just the genes, but also their environment growing up. “Karylle was exposed to the entertainment industry at a young age. During that time, she was much more interested in ballet, but she’d see me host for a popular show and she’d just take it all in. We knew she could sing, and eventually because of all the exposure to it, singing just became second nature for her.”

This is why Zsa Zsa believes that getting kids on shows like the Promil Pre-School i-Shine Camp will give them the right exposure so they can dream big early, and learn how to pursue these dreams early. “These kids are lucky because there’s a program available like the i-Shine Talent Camp. At a young age, they’ll already be exposed to the music industry, which will really help them develop to be artists,” she shares. “Promil Pre-School has provided a venue for kids that love singing, dancing, and acting to really work at their craft.”

Proper motivation to reach their full potential
Having Zsa Zsa on board is going to be a treat for the Promil Preschool i-Shine finalists, because this means they are going to be the first who will get valuable training and mentoring from a pillar in the country’s musical industry.

It will be a personal challenge for the Zsa Zsa to be firm and honest, but still encouraging with the way she guides the preschoolers. “They're very young and sensitive. They would take everything you say to heart,” she says. The first-time singing mentor plans to add a mother’s touch to her mentoring style. “It’s important to boost their confidence, but still making sure that they properly learn the craft,” she adds.

Despite the success she’s earned with the music world, Zsa Zsa also wants to share her hardships with her mentees. “These kids really come from all types of backgrounds. I also want them to learn that getting to your dreams entails battling the odds and persistence through hardship,” she says. “The kids are eager to learn about the industry, and it will be my responsibility to show them the ropes, to share with them as much as I know, including the challenges that come with it.” While the competition might be tough, Zsa Zsa is confident that with proper guidance and nutrition, the newest batch of i-Shiners will all prove to be stars.

Catch Zsa Zsa and the rest of the Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp 3 mentors, Georcelle Dapat-Sy and Angel Locsin, on ABS-CBN. Hosted by Dimples Romana, Matteo Guidicelli, and Xian Lim, the Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp 3 is giving away over Php 1 million worth of prizes and a contract form ABS-CBN and Promil Pre-School to the grand winner.

And here's another outfit post that I failed to post last summer. :p This one's taken during the Maleficent block screening at Trinoma. As always, I'm wearing Romwe! Most of my clothes are probably from them (even the ones that I now wear to school). Speaking of school, I'll be sharing in the near future some of my college girl outfits. As of the moment, I am having problems cause I don't have anyone to take my outfit shots. I probably have to train our new helpers so that they could take my ootd's ha ha!

Romwe top and pants, Solemate sandals, Daniel Wellington watch
Sexy back!

Hype this look!

This pair of pants is my new favorite! The high waist hides my tummy and stretchmarks very well. :p The color makes my thighs and legs look leaner, too! I thought I won't be able to use cropped tops anymore but I could wear them with this pants. Anyway, these jeans are meant to be cropped pants but these are still quite long for me. Nonetheless, I am very happy with it! I actually wear it almost everyday. :p

Hope you like this simple look!
